![]() As soon as this progress bar hits the end, it will switch sample rate to the following track in the list. Track loading shown along the time bar - gets slightly darker from left to right as it loads. Play a track in a playlist, sample rate sets correctly, then as soon as it's fully loaded into the player, it will switch sample rate to the next track in the list (this can be loading into cache or retrieved from cache - the only difference is speed). You have to go to something with another sample rate before it sends another signal to switch.Įdit #6: : Qobuz support: "An update will be dispatched soon for the Mac app, once it is done can you try again and keep us updated on the matter please ?"Įdit #7: : New app v5.7.2-b022 - no change. ![]() If you go off and change the sample rate manually and then play another track from the same album, it doesn't reset it again. I've noticed that within a given release it will only set the sample rate once. I've sent this new information over to Qobuz.Įdit #5: 23:11 GMT Additional finding: I mentioned above that it plays back fine from the release (album). ![]() What appears to be happening is, it starts playing the song, then within the first few seconds it sets the sample rate on the computer, but it's setting it to the sample rate for the next song in the playlist, not the current one. Everything works fine on iPhone Qobuz app with the Mojo DAC, and also fine on my Cambridge Audio CXN (V2) hifi streamer. This is happening on more than one playlist.Įdit #4: 01:23 GMT Update: Definitely a playlist thing, but only on the Mac Qobuz app. If I play from the playlist, I get the issue. If I click through from the playlist to the actual album release and play from there, it's fine. It appears to be something to do with the playlists. ![]() Not sure if closing the app, disables the ACE low level component that re-routes and captures audio behind the scenes though.Įdit #1: I've also submitted this issue to Qobuz support ( 21:45 GMT).Įdit #2: Updated text for better clarity / easier read.Įdit #3: 00:36 GMT Update: OK, this is a weird one! It's nothing to do with SoundSource - tried on a different computer without this installed, same issue. I've tried with it running and with it not running, same results. NB: Not sure if it could be related somehow, but worth noting I have Rogue Amoeba SoundSource installed. I've confirmed the same behaviour with the Mac's built-in DAC / headphone output. The Qobuz app shows the correct sample rate for the track and if I play the exact same tracks from the same playlist from the Qobuz app on my iPhone through the Mojo, it all works perfectly (i.e Qobuz stated sample rates and Mojo displayed sample rates match). Red 44.1 Orange 48 Yellow 88.2 Green 96 etc. Side note: Remembering which colour is which sample rate on the Mojo is easy if you know the old mnemonic for rainbow colours "Richard Of York Gave Battle In Vein". The Mojo matched what macOS Audio Midi Setup was showing. This came to light (literally) when using my new Chord Mojo DAC amp, because it shows the current sample rate by changing the colour of the power switch light. Most other tracks switch to the correct sample rate (the sample rate in macOS being switched automatically by the Qobuz app). This is not all tracks, just a few, but it's consistently repeatable. ![]() I've noticed some instances where the track sample rate as shown in Qobuz for each track / album and the sample rate shown in macOS Audio Midi Setup do not match.Įxamples: Annie's Song - John Denver - 24 bit / 96.0 kHz (macOS shows 44.1kHz) Perhaps Love - Plácido Domingo - 16 bit / 44.1 kHz (macOS shows 96kHz) ![]()
